What can you do in this project?

  • Learn from Ozaukee Master Gardener Volunteers who are helping 4-H youth improve the well-being, protect natural resources, and help keep fresh fruits and vegetables on the table
  • Learn the basics of gardening including soil, pollination, efficient use of water in gardening, insects, composting and more
  • Plant a container garden
  • Collaborate with others to plant a raised bed teaching garden

Ages: 3rd grade and older

Cost: Estimated $10.00 due at first class

Equipment Needed:

  • Personal garden tools such as hand held spade (wide shovel) trowel (narrow shovel) and cultivator (rake)
  • Garden gloves (optional)

Location, Dates, and Time:

Ozaukee County Fairgrounds Pavilion or Outdoor Area

2017-2018  meetings will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, October 18 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Show Arena
  • Wednesday, November 15 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Pavilion North
  • Wednesday, January 17 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Pavilion North
  • Wednesday, February 21 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Pavilion North
  • Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Pavilion North
  • Saturday April 14, Time to be determined- Cold crops planting day
  • Wednesday, May 16 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Pavilion North
  • Saturday, June 2, Time to be determined- Planting day
  • Additional times will be scheduled for each member to water, weed, and harvest
